Fashion & textile designer

RAMAELLE is the house of Rama: a fashion and textile designer in Utrecht who creates new materials out of garments that already exist, and then cuts couture from them.

Trained in fashion design [opleiding en jaar in te vullen], she works where two crafts overlap: the cut and drape of clothing, and the slower, stranger work of making the cloth itself. Most designers choose a fabric; she makes one.

Her work has been shown on the runway, and every piece on this site is hers: collected, deconstructed, transformed, created and designed by hand.
